Investment in Procore Construction Management software ensures greater project transparency for clients

10th July 2024

Our work at EYG Commercial sees us contracted to work on many large construction developments across the UK – with projects often seeing our teams design, manufacture and install hundreds of windows and doors over dozens of visits to the development site.

Throughout projects such as new housing developments, commercial buildings, health and care facilities, hotels or accommodation complexes, our team establishes long-running relationships with many suppliers, other contractors on site, and of course the end client themselves.

Having been chosen as the glazing partner on many multi-million pound projects across the UK, we are proud at EYG Commercial to have a reputation across the industry for supplying the highest-quality products, and for delivering on time and in budget.

And to ensure we remain leaders in our field in an ever-challenging market, we continue to invest in our team and processes.

That is why we have invested in Procore, a leading global construction management software system, training all members of our team to incorporate this modern method into each and every project we work on.

‘One of construction sectors most advanced solutions’

Procore provides a cloud-based construction management platform and is recognised as one of the most advanced solutions for the sector.

It allows users to store, manage and share all documents related to an ongoing project – or numerous projects for the same client – in one place, from initial tender documents to designs, plans, contracts, modifications, emails, contact details, photos and more.

Crucially, all users are automatically sent the latest updates, ensuring everyone has access to the most up-to-date designs or documents, all easy to find at the touch of a button.

Other key features include being able to set due dates and reminders, ensuring all can be kept in touch, and accountable, for all tasks, bringing effective project management and communications throughout.

Transparency and real-time updates on projects

Richard Saunders, sales and estimating director at EYG Commercial, says the new software will make the management of large-scale glazing projects easier internally, but also bring improvements for clients in terms of providing details on every aspect of EYG Commercial’s work for them at the touch of a button.

“We’ve always had robust systems in place in terms of our management of commercial glazing installations and that is why we are trusted on large scale projects where being on time and on budget is non-negotiable,” he said.

“However, this will being many more benefits to our clients in terms of offering them complete transparency and real-time information from our side.

“We’ll be able to update designs, add pictures of the projects in manufacture, and also add updates and key information from our installers on site, who will be able to access the system remotely.

“This could be to report if we have faced issues preventing us from completing our job on that day, such as the buildings not being ready on time for glazing installations, to confirmation of installations being completed.

“It means that, from day one of a project through to completion, we all have the same information to hand, and a record of everything relating to the project.

“This will also ensure better teamwork across the board, better understanding of where things are in terms of progress, or problems to be resolved day-to-day, and hopefully a smoother process for all involved.”

EYG are currently preparing to start work re-glazing one of Hull’s most recognisable recognisable buildings, Europa House, in the city centre for clients Allenby Commercial.

The five-story office complex, which is being renamed ‘Monocle’, will be transformed with the installation of 1800m² of curtain walling, windows and doors, including more than 400 1m x2.6m glazed units.
